With the growing interest and demand for a more environmentally friendly packaging, we are pleased to offer PLA-lined paper bags. PLA or polylactic acid is derived from corn. During photosynthesis, corn plants remove carbon from the air and store it in grain starches. These starches are then broken down into natural plant sugars. The carbon and other elements in these natural sugars go through a process of fermentation and polymerization which in turn converts them into polylactic acid or PLA.
Some of the environmental advantages for using PLA line paper bags are:
- Carbon-base equals excellent shelf stability
- Made from corn—a 100% annually renewable resource
- Requires 30-50% less fuel resources than other packaging
- Compostable
The pre-printed text on the bottom of these paper bags informs customers that they are using an earth-friendly bag. It also provides a valuable selling point when marketing your products.
It is everyone’s responsibility to keep our planet clean and by lessening our packaging footprint on the environment, we are taking steps toward a better tomorrow. |
